I personally spotted a group of EV3 testing in Irvine, CA last week.
They were being driven and tested against a Chevrolet Equinox EV.
Kia EV3: Coming to the U.S. 2026
Kia plans to introduce the EV3 subcompact crossover to U.S. showrooms in late 2026. Sized about 14 inches shorter than the EV6, it will serve as one of Kia’s two entry-level EV options alongside the EV4 sedan. The EV3 has already rolled out in markets such as South Korea, the U.K., and several European countries.
In Europe, buyers can choose between two battery configurations: a standard version with 58.3 kWh capacity and a long-range version rated at 81.4 kWh. Based on WLTP testing, the long-range model is capable of roughly 370 miles per charge, while the smaller pack delivers around 260 miles. Both setups support rapid charging, restoring up to 80% capacity in about half an hour.
Front-wheel drive will be the default configuration at launch, with the possibility of an all-wheel-drive option being added later. Pricing is projected to begin near $35,000 and extend up to about $50,000 depending on trim. Vehicles destined for the U.S. may be assembled at Kia’s plant in Mexico. A mid-cycle update is expected around 2028.
